- December - NYRA's first chapter, NYRA-American University, formed.
2000
- April 14 - Alex Koroknay-Palicz delivers keynote address to Hewlett Model Congress in Long Island New York
- June 19 - NYRA-Ottawa County holds formation meeting in Holland, MI
- October 28 - Annual Meeting held at American University; Alex Koroknay-Palicz, Adam Fletcher, Joe Zefran, Dustin Manuel, Beau Daniel Sanchez, and Alex Cotoia elected to the Board
2001
- May 16 - First e-mail sent on the NYRA-USA Mailing List
- June 24 - NYRA recruits 125 members at first recruiting event, a Green Day concert at American University
- July 24 - Inaugural issue of NYRA Freedom published
- July 29 - Koroknay-Palicz makes first appearance on CNN
- July - Robert Grant resigns as Treasurer.
- July - Chris Manley appointed as Treasurer.
- October 20 - Alex Koroknay-Palicz facilitates a "break-out session" at an ACLU conference on school violence.
- November 10 - Annual Meeting held in Washington, DC; Christopher Coes, Alex Cotoia, Matt Herman, Alex Koroknay-Palicz, Chris Manley, and Mark Stanford elected to the Board

- January 10th - Alex Koroknay-Palicz delivered a speech to 120 Washington, DC high school students attending a conference with the Washington Close-Up Foundation.

- May 9 - Koroknay-Palicz appears on CNN International
- September 7 - Annual Meeting held in Washington, DC; Avi Hein, Kathleen Miller, Jack Ternan, Chris Manley, Brad White, Alex Koroknay-Palicz, Darren Alcorn, Christopher Coes, and Rich Jahn elected to the Board

- January 4 - NYRA-DC reforms at Cleveland Park meeting, elects Laura Finstad new President
- January 29 - Scott Davidson begins writing NYRA Freedom
- April 25 - NYRA-DC members picket outside a Takoma, DC 7-11
- August 9 - Annual Meeting held at American University; Christopher Coes, Laura Finstad, Rich Jahn, Jason Kende, Alex Koroknay-Palicz, DeWarren K. Langley, Johnathan McClure, Kathleen Miller, and Brad White elected to the Board.

- May 7 - Benefit show for NYRA-DC at Electric Maid
- August 14 - Annual Meeting held in NYC; Scott Davidson, Rich Jahn, Alex Koroknay-Palicz, Jackie Fuller, Robert Reynolds, Kevin Keenan, Scarlett Swerdlow, Keith Mandell, and Arpan Patel elected to Board
- August 24 - NYRA Forums upgraded to vBulletin
- October 23 - Alex Koroknay-Palicz appears on Fox News to discuss lowering the voting age
- December 4 (approximate) - NYRA reaches 5,000 members
- December 31 - Brad White appears on Fox News to discuss lowering the drinking age
2005
- January 9 - NYRA-Vermont holds first meeting
- February 1 - First Florida chapter is formed - NYRA-Gainesville
- March 2 - West Wing Episode seriously discussing whether to lower the voting age airs.
- March 28 - Vermont Campaign to lower the Drinking Age begun
- April 10 - Horde leaves Vermont
- June 1 - Alexis Grant speaks on teen driving panel hosted by USA Today
- June 4 - Last e-mail is sent on the NYRA-USA Mailing List
- June 6 - Alex Koroknay-Palicz appears on Fox News to discuss the driving age
- June 8 - NYRA representatives, including executive director Alex Koroknay-Palicz, and NYRA-NYC president Ana Hevesi speak at New York City Councilmember Gale Brewer's press conference proposing a voting age of 16 for local elections.
- June 19 - NYRA Hires Alex Koroknay-Palicz full time
- July 6 - NYRA election began
- July 25 - NYRA-Orange County begins operation, with a strong focus on lowering the voting age.
- August 6 - Annual Meeting, Alex Koroknay-Palicz, Robert Reynolds, Scott Davidson, Keith Mandell, Chris Howell, Katrina Moncure, Luke Caralize, Pamela Tatz, Jay Leff elected
- August 11 - Koroknay-Palicz gets an office, provided by the Center for Voting and Democracy in Takoma Park
- Novmber 3 - NYRA's first intern, Vera Zolotaryova, begins work at Takoma Park office
- November 15, Adam King joins the staff of the newsletter NYRA Freedom.
- December 8 (approximate) - NYRA reaches 6,000 members
- December 15 - NYRA-Monroe County (Rochester, NY area) starts up, becoming NYRA's 11th local chapter.
2006
- January 3 - Time Warner gives NYRA its first grant
- January 6 - NYRA was hacked by an outside group causing temporary destruction
- January 20 - NYRA-Bergen County (in New Jersey) approved
- February 23 - Adam King begins his campaign to add a student advisor on the Buncombe County (N.C.) Board of Education
- April 3 - Adam King introduces the proposal to the school board
- May 3 - Adam King speaks to the school board for the second time
- June 1 - Adam King speaks to the school board for the third time
- July 20 - Adam King hosts a press conference about his school board campaign
- August 3 - Adam King's proposal was rejected at his fourth school board meeting
- August 5 - Annual Meeting held in San Francisco, CA; Jessica Campbell, Scott Davidson, Zach Hobesh, Alex Hull-Richter, Adam King, Alex Koroknay-Palicz, Keith Mandell, Katrina Moncure, and Pamela Tatz elected to the Board
- December 8 - NYRA receives grant from the Babson Foundation

- March 19 - NYRA joins SSDP in rallying in front of the US Supreme Court to support student free speech rights in case of Morse v. Frederick which was being argued
- April 18 - Scott Davidson and Alex Koroknay-Palicz testify against bill to restrict youth attendance at clubs at DC committee hearing
- July 28 - Annual Meeting held in Washington, DC; Alex Hull-Richter, Adam King, Alex Koroknay-Palicz, Keith Mandell, Katrina Moncure, Stefan Muller, Jessica Roeder, Yonaton Yares, and Adam Zarnowski elected to the Board
